Welcome to the Salco Partners webpage, online home of one of the largest Salers
herds in Australia.
Based at Lang Lang in West Gippsland, Victoria, Salco Partners run both pure and cross-breeding programs, selecting for growth rates, temperament, moderate frame size, polling and maternal traits. We are a founding member of the Trans-Tasman Salers Breedplan.
Our herd is based on top Australian and French bloodlines, built up from five imported French heifers in 1989. Utilising AI and ET, with careful sire selection, the herd has grown to today's size of over 100 breeders. Exceptional ease of calving is standard with Salers, allowing our herd to calve unattended each year. We have quality pedigree and commercial bulls, cows and heifers for immediate sale.
The Salers genetic distance from other cattle breeds makes them ideal for achieving optimal hybrid vigour from cross-breeding. We have examples of this from an Angus bull which is currently producing excellent commercial calves from Salers cows. If you are interested in hybrid vigour or selling to feedlots, come and see our line of first cross Salers-Angus calves.
Salco Partners will participate in Stock and Land Beef Week 2009. Instructions for visiting our stud on our next open day, Saturday 31st January, 2009, are available by clicking here. You can download a brochure with highlights for this year's Beef Week by clicking here (PDF, 635kb)
